Housing

We have a new and improved housing facility!!!

Merkaz Hamagshimim Hadassah serves as a housing facility for young Olim and tourists looking for a pluralistic community, activism and Zionism during their time in Israel. Since its establishment, The Merkaz has housed young English speakers from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, South Africa, Gibraltar, Mexico, Switzerland, Spain, Uruguay, Germany, Poland and Kosovo.
The Merkaz is offering young olim a soft landing in Israel. The Housing is for people 20-35 who are either olim or are seriously considering Aliyah. The rent you pay includes all utilities (water, electricity, and city taxes), wi-fi internet service and maintenance service, saving you the trouble of dealing with Israeli bureaucracy for the first couple of months.
It also offers an opportunity to live within a community of people who are in the same stage in life, going through the same things and being able to support each other in the process.

Our Housing
The new apartments are located in Derech Hebron 80, in the neighborhood of Baka, near our new offices. Each apartment can house 2-3 residents. Each resident get their own room and each apartment also have a living room, a kitchen, 2 toilettes and a bathroom.
In each room there is a bed, a closet and a table, and the living room has sofas, table, and all kitchen facilities (refrigerator, microwave, oven and stove).
The apartments are air conditioned and have both electric and solar water heater. There is a free gym at the basement of the building and a laundry facility 5 minutes walk from the apartments (in our office building).

What does it mean being a resident in The Merkaz?
Choosing to live as a resident in the Merkaz is committing to the values of pluralism, community, activism and Zionism. Each resident commits (as part of their contract) to donate 10 hours a month to the community and to The Merkaz. These hours can be dedicated to a project within our activism center, to support our theater, gallery or other cultural events, to help us in public relations and fundraising or in arranging events for the community.
