Aliyah Info
The Aliyah Information Center for Young Adults is a helpful resource for olim and tourists seeking practical information about
Israel.

Many olim and tourists find it difficult to become accustomed to Israeli bureaucratic systems, be it dealing with banks, ulpanim, insurance companies, or any other aspect of daily life in Israel. The Aliyah Information Center offers a reliable and helpful service to individuals facing this challenging experience.

We offer a plethora of services, some examples of which are the following: help finding a suitable ulpan, CV translation, assistance in finding housing, and more.
An especially important service for new olim that is offered by the Aliyah Information Center in conjunction with the newly-formed YJ Alumni mentor network is help
in finding a job, a formidable process which can be overwhelming to all, but especially to the new immigrant.

From the klitah process to internship placement, the Aliyah Information Center offers helpful services even before the oleh arrives in the country, and continues
to provide individual support as one begins a new life in Israel.

We are happy to also offer a new form of assistance as well: the FREE services of Ravit Nakar, a volunteer through the Sochnut (Jewish Agency) who will be
available for 1-hour meetings, on Thursday evenings between 7-9pm (at Merkaz Hamagshimim), to help you 1) review rental or work contracts in Hebrew 2)
help guide you through the Israeli banking system.
Ravit is a native Israeli who speaks English and will be glad to help you in either language. Appointments must be made in advance by e-mailing Shira at meida@themerkaz.org

I email Shira Barzilay at Hamagshamim who had come to talk to us about Aliyah whilst we were on WUJS. I emailed her explaining all the problems I had,
and asked her if there was anything at all she could do. She emailed me back immediately. Over the next few days she made both email and telephone enquiries and managed to sort out all the problems I had, quickly and efficiently, and keeping me updated several times a day.
Now, a couple of months later, I am a proud Oleh Hadash, living in Beit Canada and registered to start Ulpan Etzion in the coming weeks.
I have lots of people to thank for helping me to get to where I am today, but above all I am indebted to Shira Barzilay.  without her help I would not have made Aliyah!”
- Jeremy Collins

"I just wanted to say THANK YOU for being so kind, supportive, and patient. Your hands-on approach really makes me feel like making aliyah IS possible,
even without a lot of financial resources." - Sarabeth Reingold
