The Activism Center brings together and coordinates young activists from numerous cultural backgrounds, uniting them through their common passion for social justice, whatever their specific interest. The Center was founded in 2000 with the mission of encouraging social change in Israel, and has since successfully created a network of young adults constantly working towards affecting social change in Israel.

The Center’s activities affect thousands of ordinary Israeli citizens, creating ripples in Israeli society that can lead to real transformation. We believe that a true experience in Israel involves a “give and take” relationship, where olim and tourists not only receive the benefits of services provided and not only appreciate the unique nature of our country, but also give back to Israeli society by promoting and initiating social change. From environmental issues to topics of social injustice, The Center offers opportunities that change the world, and change the individuals’ perceptions of the world.
ACTIVIST INITIATIVES
As the Activism Center develops, so do its projects. The activist initiatives created and carried out by members of Merkaz YJ Impact! Hadassah focus on current issues in modern society. Using the resources of the Activism Center , volunteers develop potential projects into actual, functioning initiatives. The Activism Center provides a unique forum where new campaigns can be discussed, planned, and developed. The Center’s staff also provides both the guidance and the tools that volunteers require to get a new initiative started. Among the initiatives we have let in the past two years are:
